ChicknLegs is a sports apparel company. We were born out of love for long distance running, but our products are loved and enjoyed by all kinds of athletes! We make fun, comfortable and affordable running apparel. This internship gives students the opportunity to gain real work experience in a sports apparel start up! The internship could potentially lead to a full-time offer – we are eager to find the right people to join our family and help us grow the business!
About ongoing Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities
As an apparel design intern you are responsible for assisting in developing products from ideation to execution! Our previous apparel design interns were leads in the creation of new patterns and even new product lines -- the goal is for our interns to be able to make a true impact on the business and gain real work experience!
- Develop novel products and patterns from art-to-product, including sample testing and recalibrating
- Involved in development processes, such as digital pattern making and technical specifications for manufacturers
- Create apparel visualization technologies, such as CAD
- Opportunities to create new designs and concepts
- Investigate market trends that align with the ChicknLegs brand
- Assist team in creating design schematics, and product line drafts
- Work with other team members and leadership to ensure brand cohesion
- Collaborate on ad hoc projects as assigned by leadership
About Desired Qualifications
- Portfolios with class work and student assignments encouraged!
- Working knowledge creating apparel visualization mock-ups
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
- Working knowledge of CAD
- Strong fashion and creative sense
- Experience creating technical specifications
- Knowledge in pattern-making
- Sketching and illustrating skills a plus
- Must be enrolled in an accredited program, with a HS diploma or GED
- Passionate about running, sports/fitness and apparel
